About

Where are you from and where did you go to medical school?

I was born in Athens, Greece and moved to Canada in 2004. My family lives in Toronto, which is where I finished my undergraduate degree. I then went to medical school in Grenada for two years and did my clinical rotations in New Jersey and New York for two years prior to coming to Georgia after matching here for residency.

You are in your last year of residency, so what are your next plans?

Starting in July, I am happy to be joining the hospitalist team at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut as a nocturnist.

How do you maintain wellness here in residency?

I try to do a variety of activities in both large and small groups. We have a basketball group that plays on Tuesdays, with both residents and faculty participating. It can be a bit difficult due to varying schedules, but when we are able to get out there it is always a good time. A lot of us also frequently hang out together, watch movies, try different restaurants, etc. I often go to the Regal theater in Gainesville as it’s right beside my house. We also have a video gaming group and play together a few nights a week when we can.

It was your idea to have the GME dodgeball tournament that’s coming up on May 8 at 6 p.m. on the University of North Georgia Gainesville campus. How can residents and faculty learn more?

If you want to know more about the dodgeball tournament, reach out to me or Jessica Bowling and we can tell you more about it. When I came up with the idea, I was not sure how much of a turnout we were going to get, but so far it looks like quite a few people have signed up. It’s going to be a great event, and I encourage everyone to sign up even if you don’t have a team. We will create the teams on the day of for people who don’t have one, and everyone will get plenty of opportunities to play.
