Dr. Fombi was born in Cameroon and completed his undergraduate education at Delaware State University. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Roseau, Dominica and completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Medical College of Georgia.
During his residency, Dr. Fombi conducted a QI project about diabetes management in selected patients and presented a poster to the American College of Physicians, Georgia Chapter, on chylopericardium in a hemodialysis patient with brachiocephalic vein and superior vena cava thrombosis. He is passionate about teaching, process improvement, patient satisfaction and improving interdepartmental communication.
Prior to joining the NGMC GME program, Dr. Fombi had medicine sub-interns rotate with him. His experience as a Hospitalist and passion for Internal Medicine makes him an excellent addition to the core faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency program.
