Dr. Joseph was born in India and immigrated to the U.S. after finishing high school. She decided to pursue a career in medicine because she was curious about the workings of the human body. Later, her mother’s illness reinforced her desire to pursue medicine as a career. She chose to specialize in family medicine because she could not imagine herself not being able to treat the whole person or the whole family. She has a strong interest in women’s health, adolescent health, mental health and preventative care. She is passionate about patient empowerment.
Dr. Joseph earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Georgia in Athens. She entered medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her residency in family medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Joseph served as chief resident at Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program. She was also awarded a recognition for Outstanding Clinical Practice at the end of residency.
Dr. Joseph joined Northeast Georgia Physician’s Group as a provider in 2014. She has been committed to providing compassionate care to her patients in Dacula, Georgia. She has been involved in the Quality and Patient Safety Council for Northeast Georgia Health System with a mission to improve quality of care delivered our health system. She was also a member of the Education and Research committee at Georgia Academy of Family physician. She has enjoyed teaching physician assistant students and nurse practitioner students in her clinic.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending times with her husband, their son and her dog, Rustie. She loves to read. She also enjoys hiking and Bollywood movies.
