About

Ronald C. Lewis, MD, is a nationally recognized general surgeon with NGPG Surgical Associates. Dr. Lewis is recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Surgeon of Excellence in Hernia, Robotic, and Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Dr. Lewis is a founding member of the Hernia Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Georgia’s first accredited Hernia Surgery Center of Excellence. The Hernia Center offers patients access to the most advanced robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques for hernia repair.

A native of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Lewis began practicing medicine in 1996 and joined Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) in 2010. Dr. Lewis is a diplomate in the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative (AHSQC).

Dr. Lewis pursued his education at the University of Georgia and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center located in Phoenix, Arizona

Dr. Lewis served as the NGMC Chief of Staff from 2013 to 2014 and on the NGPG Board of Directors in 2015.

In his spare time, Dr. Lewis volunteers as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts and attends his local church.
