Mission & Goals

Mission

The Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship is a community-based program with the mission to cultivate respectful and compassionate specialists in our field who will be equipped to serve and empower their colleagues, patients and communities to engage others in meaningful conversations about their values and priorities while alleviating suffering of those around us. By being good stewards of time and resources and by owning our place on the medical team, we push ourselves and those around us to be knowledgeable, accountable and kind.

Goals

Our goal is to practice and provide our fellows with the core values of our institution of Respectful Compassion, Passion for Excellence, Deep Interdependence and Responsible Stewardship. We aim to provide evidence-based treatment to alleviate suffering in patients of every race, gender, age and socioeconomic status. Through respectful evaluation and thoughtful treatment of our community members, physicians will refine skills needed by the communities they will serve in the future.
