About

Why did you choose a career in Family Medicine?

I went into medicine with a desire to help people and because of my love for science. As I rotated through medical school, I realized how much I enjoyed all the specialties! I loved doing everything – from seeing babies to performing knee injections and talking about mental health. I truly enjoy being able to provide care for people, not just organs. I especially appreciate when they bring their family members to me as well.

What are some of your fondest memories of medical school?

Some of my fondest memories were spending time with friends and family outside of studying!

What drew you to pursue the Family Medicine Residency program with NGMC?

The population of Gainesville! As a bilingual first-generation Latina, I knew I specifically wanted to help the Latinx/Hispanic population. The culture here is so diverse, and it really drew me in. Staying close to home was also a big plus.

What were your favorite clubs/activities in high school?

I used to be part of quiz bowl in high school!

What are your hobbies?

As a busy family medicine resident, my hobbies include sleeping and spending time with family. I also enjoy reality TV and listening to KPOP music!
