About
1. What inspired you to pursue psychiatry and what are your clinical interests within psychiatry?
I was drawn to psychiatry because of the opportunity to truly get to know patients on a deeper level and to approach care from holistic perspective. I value understanding the biological, psychological and social factors that shape a person’s experience and the therapeutic relationship needed to learn these things about someone. Clinically, I am interested in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, with an emphasis on neurodevelopment.
2. What do you enjoy most about being part of this residency program?
What I enjoy most about the residency program is its commitment to growth and continuous improvement. Being part of a new program offers residents the chance to impact the direction of the program and tailor our training experiences to our interests. This allows for a strong sense of collaboration and, with the openness to resident input, meaningful relationships and opportunities.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dogs, crafting, gardening, and rotating through new hobbies, a trait my husband undoubtedly loves.
