About
1. What inspired you to pursue psychiatry and what are your clinical interests within psychiatry?
I chose psychiatry because I enjoy getting to know people and understanding how they make sense of their experiences. Plus, it’s the only field where asking a lot of questions is considered a skill rather than annoying. Jokes aside, during my third-year clerkship, seeing how much mental illness can affect daily life made me realize that I wanted to help patients navigate those challenges. Clinically, I’m interested in addiction, psychotherapy, and neuromodulation.
2. What do you enjoy most about being part of this residency program?
The culture and how kind and supportive everyone is. The faculty are invested in our growth not just as psychiatrists, but as people, and there’s a strong sense that we’re all on the same team. I appreciate how approachable the attendings are, the emphasis on learning rather than perfection, and the camaraderie among residents.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Outside of residency, I spend a lot of time watching or playing sports, reading about finance, cooking, and hanging out with friends and family. I’m always down to trying a new restaurant, playing board games, or unwind with a good show. When I have the chance, I also enjoy traveling or doing absolutely nothing.
