About

Why did you want to become a doctor?

The reason why I applied to medical school in the first place was because I wanted to be a primary care physician. I had shadowed a close family friend during undergrad who happened to be a PCP, and I knew that I wanted to serve in that role in others’ lives. I love that I get to take care of my patients over many years, and I enjoy the challenge of being a well-rounded doctor that can take care of all kinds of things. I really love the culture that surrounds family medicine, and enjoy being around other physicians who are also passionate about preventative medicine and caring for patients holistically.

What are your favorite memories from medical school?

Some of my favorite memories from medical school are the close friendships I made. Going through those four challenging years really bonded us together, and I love getting to catch up with those friends whenever they return to Georgia. Match Day was also a huge day for us at the Medical College of Georgia, because we all dress up in costumes and really celebrate each other’s achievements. It was super special to share that with all the people who made it through those four years with me.

Why did you want to train in Georgia?

I’ve been living in Georgia since I was three years old. So, all of my education, including undergrad and medical school, has taken place here. I knew I really wanted to continue to train here, because ultimately, I want to practice here after residency. I heard about the Family Medicine program at NGMC from a friend while in my fourth year of medical school, and ended up doing an audition rotation at the program. For a month, I got to experience how kind and welcoming everyone is and work in our beautiful clinic. I knew by the end of the rotation that this was truly where I wanted to be for the next three years.

What activities did you enjoy in high school?

My favorite activities in high school included playing the piano and singing in chorus.

What are your current hobbies?

My current hobbies include reading books, doing art projects and baking.

What are you interests within family medicine?

Preventative medicine and psychiatry.
