About
Why did you choose a career in family medicine?
Family Medicine is a broad spectrum of possibilities. I loved that it gave me the opportunity to take care of literally anyone, from babies to the elderly population. No two days will ever be the same and I get to give back to my community in a very meaningful way.
What are some of your fondest memories of medical school?
Watching the response of the people in the community that I helped. The people were so grateful for any information that I was able to give them as many of them did not see a doctor regularly.
What drew you to pursue the Family Medicine Residency program at NGMC?
NGMC had a very warm and welcoming vibe as compared to other programs that I interviewed with. Everyone seemed genuinely happy and content. Growing up in Florida I was used to the city life, but I also wished for more green scenery. Gainesville gave me that balance! It is so pretty and green, but Atlanta is not too far away and I can drive to the city at any time.
What were your favorite clubs/activities in high school?
Soccer and Track were my year round activities, sometimes I miss the adrenaline rush. But I have found new teams to be a part of here in Gainesville.
What are your hobbies?
Hiking, cooking, and decorating my house
Do you have a special interest in the field of family medicine?
Rheumatology has a special place in my heart because my sister has Lupus. I remember the impact her PCP had in her diagnosis and care, it was pivotal to her success now.
What is strangest diagnosis you ever encountered?
Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome
