About

1. What inspired you to pursue psychiatry and what are your clinical interests within psychiatry?

I volunteered as a crisis counselor for a time before starting med school and had a close family friend go through a severe psychotic episode which got me interested in psychiatry in the first place. I am interested in child psychiatry but have been enjoying the other psych specialties I have been exposed to so far, so I am still unsure which direction to pursue! One thing for sure, I do greatly enjoy psychotherapy and hope to make it a big part of my practice in the future.

2. What do you enjoy most about being part of this residency program?

I think we have a wonderful group of residents who are really focused on collaborating and lifting each other up as we navigate residency. Our program is also relatively young and still developing, so we as residents have a lot of input when it comes to streamlining and refining the curriculum and rotation opportunities. Our PD and admin team are very receptive to feedback, and it has been exciting to see how quickly resident input turns into real change.

3. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I have always really enjoyed cooking and am a huge foodie, so I love exploring the greater Atlanta and North Georgia region and trying out restaurants form various cuisines. I am also (likely to an annoying extent) a very big fan of k-pop and k-drama so a lot of my free time (and money…) goes towards that.
