About

Have you ever been to the great place of Salt Lake City, Utah? Dr. Illu, pronounced “E-U,”  highly recommends a visit to his hometown, where he was often found outside snowboarding, hiking, biking, and adventuring through life. His father is from Guatemala, and his mother is from California. Their support and encouragement have been instrumental in helping him become a first-generation college student. He met his wife Brittany during his undergraduate studies at Utah State University. Shortly after graduation, they set off and lived in Puerto Rico for a year to discover new things and meet new people. Prior to medical school, he worked as an E.M.T. and then eventually a Paramedic over the course of five years. This helped him discover the passion he has for Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Illu matriculated at Trinity School of Medicine. His favorite topic was Pathology, followed closely by physical wellness. He is a part of EMRA and has participated in various studies of medical devices used in the Ambulance. His particular interest in the world of Emergency Medicine is E.M.S. and Ultrasound. He was so excited to hear he would be joining the E.D. team at NGHS as a resident! He looks forward to meeting and working with everyone and exploring the area and mountains that Gainesville offers!
