As a child, growing up on the Caribbean Island of Antigua, Dr. David’s desire for learning and helping others was instilled in him at an early age by his parents. They believed that education was the key to unlocking many doors of opportunity and that his level of compassion and a willingness to help others would fulfill a purposeful life. This mindset, guidance, and ambition lead him to become a physician.
Dr. David’s childhood interest in sports also proved to have an impact later in life. Dr. David played basketball, soccer, track and field, and cricket – which is very popular in the Caribbean! These hobbies progressed into a passion for sports medicine. In fact, after his residency, Dr. David was awarded a fellowship training in sports medicine at The University of Oklahoma at Tulsa, earning his Certificate of Added Qualification. “Since I’ve played several sports in my youth, I want to make sure that young athletes are able to play safely. If they experience injury, my goal is to help them return to sports quickly when appropriate and to get back to doing what they love. I enjoy the variety sports medicine offers – and the procedures are fascinating to me as well,” says Dr. David.

How’s Living in Northeast Georgia?
“I love living in this area because it’s an overall relaxing atmosphere. At the same time, it offers easy access to Atlanta for professional sports, theater, museums, restaurants – everything Atlanta is known for. Most important to me, this is a great area to raise a family – the school system is excellent, and the public universities are highly ranked.”
“It has been great to work with a team of physicians that are bright, dedicated and helpful.”Dr. Leslie David
