Change Grants are funded through WATCH, the employee giving club at NGHS.

Launched in 2019, Change Grants allow employees to submit ideas for projects that improve patient experience, employee morale and patient-family satisfaction. Through employee generosity and passion for our mission, NGHS team members are making great things happen across our entire region.

Team leader Dr. Nikolas Jen spearheaded the project with the support and help of Dr. Nidha Khan, Dr. Maryam Raad and Dr. Kaylee Goergen as well as their advisor, Dr. Munoz-Bramhall. The project is called “Improving Anti-Hypertensive Compliance” and was one of the groups to receive funding.

“We applied for the grant because studies have shown that pill boxes can improve medication adherence by acting as a physical reminder to ensure patients take their BP medications. Additionally, patients will only need to organize their medications once a week instead of every day. We plan to also integrate a brief educational session with distribution to ensure patients understand how to use the organizers effectively.” – Dr. Raad, Family Medicine resident
