Two soon-to-be graduates of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program at Northeast Georgia Medical Center have matched into Interventional Cardiology fellowships.

Chief Fellow, Priyadarshini Dixit, MD, matched into the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program at Corewell Health – Grand Rapids/Michigan State University.

“It is a dream come true. I knew I wanted to become an Interventional Cardiologist from the first day of medical school and follow my dad and brother’s footsteps. I am grateful to my family and friends who supported me. A big part of this achievement goes to our fantastic and ever-supportive faculty who guided me and prepared me for this day, including our Program Director, Dr. Egolum, who has been a constant pillar of support. The resources provided by our GME department allowed me to present my research at multiple national conferences as well. I am proud to be a part of such a well-balanced academic program with a great educational experience!” – Priya Dixit, MD

Cardiovascular Disease Fellow, Sheriff Dodoo, MD, matched into the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center – Memphis, his goal from the beginning.

“I look forward to the next phase of my training in interventional cardiology with a lot of excitement and joy. This is truly my dream come true – for me to be able to care for patients with acute myocardial infarction, heart attack, cardiogenic shock and coronary artery disease. Training in interventional cardiology will allow me the opportunity to help bridge the gaps in cardiovascular healthcare disparities in minor populations and all patients. Working and training closely with the faculty and staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Georgia Heart Institute has equipped me with knowledge, skills and judgement to excel in my future career and training in interventional cardiology.” – Sheriff Dodoo, MD
