Emergency Medicine DEI Scholarship

The Emergency Medicine Residency DEI committee is proud to announce DEI scholarships for visiting medical students. DEI scholarships are for those interested in emergency medicine, who want to rotate at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and learn more about our residency program.

Our residency has a very strong commitment to recruiting and supporting a diverse group of emergency medicine residents. The mission of the DEI committee is to expand access in the field of emergency medicine with a focus on professional development, to dismount biases, and to work to eliminate stereotypes. We want to ensure that the learning and working environments we shape are inclusive in serving ALL people from ALL walks of life. We will continue to evolve and adapt to the needs of our program without sacrificing integrity or substance.

For medical students who identify as underrepresented in emergency medicine and who are interested in doing a rotation with use, first apply to the rotation and then complete the scholarship application form.

We will choose up to five applicants and provide up to $1,500 in reimbursement toward travel and housing costs for their rotation in our residency.

In addition, the Georgia College of Emergency Physicians (GCEP) also has a DEI scholarship for any student doing an away rotation in Georgia.
